 weekly planning form
Since I am prone to get bored easily, I've gone through quite a journey of different planning systems (as you can read about in one of my other posts).

Since my getting a new job about 5 or 6 months ago, I've discovered my little card system I mentioned doesn't work in this new context. So here comes yet another system! Just this week I created a new form that fits into this system, which you are free to download.

As I mention in my book I'm Not Neat But I'm Organized, creating a custom-fit organizational system is how you become more efficient and productive. It's got to fit you and work for you. This is why my systems continue to change, because life changes and circumstances change and processes change. So, I adjust my systems to streamline what's going on.

One of the tools mentioned in the book is the master task list, a catch-all for everything going on. I use a site called gubb.net, a free site where you can categorize all the tasks you need to do.

I have tried tons of task sites, but this one works best because:
1. It gives a visual representation of all my different projects and areas of life by creating colored boxes
2. It allows you to prioritize items and set due dates, and sort in different types of orders or priorities
3. It archives any tasks so you can go back and check things if needed
4. It allows you to post comments and notes about your task
5. It lets you share your list with other people — great for project management.

So I used this for a couple months, and would move items into the upper left bright read "Now" box for all the things I needed to focus on for the day.

However there was another step missing, and that was a location to place all my tasks on a schedule so that I could know what I should do when (a very necessary step for forgetful, short-attention-span people like me!).

So I created a week-at-a-glance form where I can write down my meetings and tasks together in one place and always have it open before me so I can keep on track. Feel free to download it for your use if you find it helpful.

I printed the pages double-sided and punched them to fit in my Rollabind system, and now I am good to go. It has helped me keep on track with what I have to do and I find great delight in crossing out all the things that I have put down for the day!
