Being an organized person, I am often the person designated to take minutes at a meeting, which I am happy to do.
However, this ends up being problematic when I am facilitating the meeting and writing notes up on a flipchart or whiteboard.
One way to overcome this is to pass my computer to someone else to take notes. However, this can be problematic if the person is not a Mac person or computer literate (I use a Mac laptop). And handwritten notes don't help much because they require retyping later!
So recently I have adopted a new way to take notes. I just whip out my phone and take a picture of the flipchart or whiteboard. It's very quick for me to download the photo from my phone and paste it into my notes. (Since I am kind of picky, I do increase the contrast and convert to black and white, but it's not necessary. Even after doing those adjustments, it's still quicker than retyping everything!)
Saves retyping, saves time!
